組継（組手）(くみつぎ（くみて）)kumitsugi (kumite)
箱などの隅で材を組み合わせた部分。あるいはその手法を指す。一方に両端の二枚、他方に中央の一枚を残して材を欠き取り、そうしてできた男木(おぎ)と女木(めぎ)とを組み合わせた三枚組をはじめ、二枚と二枚を合わせる四枚組、さらに五枚組、六枚組、七枚組などがある。

Dovetail joint
A corner joint used in carpentry and boxes to secure boards at a right angle. Angled teeth are cut into both boards so the teeth in one board interlock with those in the other. Dovetail joints are classified by the number of interlocking teeth.
