象嵌(ぞうがん)zōgan

工芸の装飾技法の一つで、金属・陶磁・木材などの材料の表面に他の材料（同種のこともある）を嵌(は)め込むこと。正倉院宝物によくみられる木地螺鈿(らでん)、木画(もくが)も象嵌の一種。
