Shitōzu
Woven cloth sock-like foot coverings. Those in the Shōsō-in include compound-weave (nishiki) ones that are cut in an L shape, lined, and sewn together with front, back and bottom seams. A cloth cord attached at the bend served to secure the sock to the foot at the ankle.
