“Seven treasures.” This is a set of gems understood as being the ones that decorated the realm of the Buddha. They were deemed most appropriate for use as ornaments surrounding a Buddhist image. Different sutras list somewhat different gems, but they include, for instance, gold, silver, lapis lazuli, quartz, seashell, coral, and agate.
