Incised designs
Incised lines are used to add details, such as outlining the veins of a leaf or petal, to mother-of-pearl inlay, bamboo, wood, and metal fittings. In metal objects, the incised lines are made either with a triangular shaped carving tool that can gauge out thin continual lines (kebori) or with a flat edged tool that is used to lightly nick the metal and form dotted lines (keribori).
