裁文(さいもん)saimon
金属片などの板素材で、文様(もんよう)のかたちに裁断されたものをいう。たとえば、平脱(へいだつ)技法で器面に貼られる金属片の文様などをさす。

Cutout designs
Patterns cut out of various materials, such as paper, cloth, metal, or leather. Metal cutouts were often imbedded in lacquer, such as in heidatsu. Cloth and leather cutouts were appliquéd onto a cloth, or sewn back to back.
