Silk wadding. The silk cocoon is stretched in all directions to gradually draw it out into a large square of filaments, which is then beaten to become fluffy. The wadding can be inserted between layers of fabric to increase the warmth of a garment or wrapped around a core and covered to make a soft inner lining for a box.
