金箔や銀箔をすりつぶして細かい粉末とし、膠(にかわ)の水溶液で練って泥状にしたもの。

Gold and silver paint is made by grinding gold or silver leaf and mixing the resultant powder with animal glue. It can then be applied with a brush to a wood or lacquered surface.
