巻胎(けんたい)kentai
漆工芸の素地技法の一つ。細い竹や木の薄板を用い、輪積みか巻き上げによって胎を成形した後、漆で塗り固める方法。

Kentai
A core for lacquered objects. Thin bamboo or wood slats are stacked in rings or coiled to form the walls of a container and set on a base. Then the whole is painted with lacquer to solidify the form.
