刈安(かりやす)kariyasu
イネ科の多年草であるカリヤス（刈安）の茎と葉を煎じて作る黄色系の植物性染料。単独で黄染めに用いられるほか、藍(あい)と重ね染めして緑色に染めるのに用いられた。

Miscanthus
A tall grass with seed tassels, native to mountain areas, miscanthus tinctorius Hackel contains flavonoid, which dyes a lemon yellow. Already in the Nara period, it was used to dye silk and paper and often as a top-dye on indigo to produce green.
