紬(つむぎ)tsumugi
屑繭または真綿を紡(つむ)ぎ、撚(よ)りをかけた糸を紬糸といい、その糸で平織りにした織物を紬あるいは紬織という。

Tsumugi
“Hand spun.” Tsumugi refers both to the uneven silk thread that results from spinning damaged or imperfect cocoons rather than the long, even thread that is reeled off the cocoon and to the fabric woven with that uneven thread.
