造東大寺司(ぞうとうだいじし)zōtōdaijishi
東大寺の造営、写経事業などを掌(つかさど)った令外官(りょうげのかん)。太政官(だいじょうかん)に直轄されていた。天平二十年（七四八）頃成立し、延暦八年（七八九）に停廃された。造寺司(ぞうじし)、造東寺司(ぞうとうじし)と略されることもある。

Tōdaiji Construction Bureau
An agency overseeing the building, furnishing, and other administrative affairs of Tōdaiji, as well as the production of all manuscripts. Within the Tōdaiji Construction Bureau were a large number of smaller offices including the official Scriptorium (Shakyōsho) and the Office of Temple Construction (Zōbutsusho).
