黄杞(こうき)kōki
Walnut
Kōki refers to a tropical forest walnut Engelhardia roxburghiana that grows in South China, Southeast Asia, and India. The tall tree can reach thirty-five meters. The bark and sapwood contain tannin used as a dye and medicine. It has a somewhat coarse, even texture and a straight grain.
